About the Scheme
The “Trekking Traction Centre Home-stay Grant Scheme” was launched in 2020 to provide financial assistance to villagers for constructing or renovating homestays in traditional hill-style architecture near trekking routes.
Benefits
- Construction: A grant of ₹60,000/- per room is provided for new buildings with toilets.
- Renovation: A grant of ₹25,000/- per room is provided for repairs (max 6 rooms).
Eligibility
- Native of an identified village within 2km of a tracking traction center.
- Must reside in the homestay with family.
- Homestay must have between 1 and 6 guest rooms.
- Preference for traditional hill-style architecture.
Application Process
Offline
- Obtain application forms from the District Tourism Development Officer.
- Submit with required proof; an interview will be conducted by a committee chaired by the District Magistrate.
- After construction/repair, a technical committee conducts an inspection.
- On satisfactory completion, funds are transferred via DBT.
Documents Required
- Birth/Age certificate and Educational certificates.
- Uttarakhand domicile certificate and Proof of ownership of land/building.
- Caste/Category certificate (if applicable).
- Bank passbook copy.
