About the Scheme

The scheme “Sub-Mission on Agricultural Extension” is implemented by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote the adoption of modern and scientific farming practices among farmers through continuous training, practical demonstrations, and exposure visits.

Benefits

  • Training and Exposure: Periodical training, exhibitions, fairs, and farmer–scientist interactions.
  • Farm School: Free seeds, fertilizers, and chemicals provided for demonstration to groups of 30 farmers.
  • Kisan Awards: Cash rewards for excellence:
    • Block Level: ₹10,000 – Kisan Shri
    • District Level: ₹25,000 – Kisan Bhushan
    • State Level: ₹50,000 – Kisan Ratna

Eligibility

  • Resident of Uttarakhand.
  • Must be a farmer with cultivable land registered in relevant land records.

Application Process

Offline

For training: Submit a written request to the Nyaya Panchayat, Assistant Agriculture Officer, or Chief Agriculture Officer (ATMA) at the district level.

For Kisan Awards: District Agriculture Offices publish advertisements in newspapers. Applications are submitted within the stipulated period to the ADO Agriculture or Block/District offices. Selection is conducted in an open meeting of the Farmers Advisory Committee at the block level, with final approval by the ATMA Governing Body chaired by the District Magistrate.

  • Aadhaar Card and Residence Certificate
  • Bank Passbook and Mobile Number
  • Certificates of notable work, training, or exposure visits
  • Soil Health Card / Animal Breed Improvement Card
  • Kisan Credit Card details and insurance proof (if applicable)
  • Self-attested passport-sized photograph
  • Details of landholdings and crop production
