About the Scheme

The scheme “Sthaniya Fasal Protsahan Karyakram” was launched by the Department of Agriculture, Government of Uttarakhand, to promote the cultivation of local crops, enhance productivity, ensure the use of quality seeds, and provide fair prices to farmers in the mountain districts of Uttarakhand.

Benefits

The scheme distributes verified seeds of local crops at 100% subsidy to achieve the following:

• Increase cultivation area of region-specific crops.
• Ensure recommended seed replacement rates.
• Enhance productivity through quality seeds.
• Promote local pulse crops and ensure fair prices for farmers.

Selected traditional crops:

1. Kidney Beans
2. Gahat
3. Ramdana
4. Red Rice
5. Maize (Nainital and Chakrata region)
6. Bhatta
7. Ugal/Phafar
8. Kauni
9. Toor (Pigeon Pea)

Eligibility

• All farmers from the mountain districts of Uttarakhand are eligible.

Application Process

Offline

All farmers belonging to the selected clusters can participate. Seed production and distribution are managed by the Agriculture Department in clusters formed under the Traditional Agriculture Development Scheme and through CLF/LC established under UGVS-REAP.

Documents Required

Farmers should submit documents as specified in the program guidelines.
