The “Sponsorship Scheme” is implemented by the Women Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to children up to the age of 18 years who are in need of care and protection. It is a centrally sponsored scheme, funded 90% by the Government of India.

Benefits

Beneficiaries are provided assistance of ₹4,000/- per month till the age of 18 years, directly deposited into their bank account.

Eligibility

  • The child/beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
  • Children up to 18 years of age in families with annual income up to ₹72,000/- (rural) or ₹96,000/- (urban).
  • Children who have lost both parents/guardians.
  • Children covered under PM CARES, children of breadwinners lost, or children in conflict with the law (CCL).
  • Child labor victims, trafficking victims, child marriage victims, POCSO victims, and children on Bal Swaraj Portal.

Application Process

Offline

Applicants must obtain an application form from the District Probation Office. Submit the completed form with required documents to the same office. Approval is granted by a district committee headed by the District Magistrate. Benefits are subject to target limits set by the Government of India.
