Description
The “Scheme to Grant Monthly Financial Assistance to the Persons Engaged in Traditional Occupations/Businesses including Motorcycle Pilots” was launched by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, to provide social security to those earning through traditional businesses.
Benefits
- Monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000/-.
- Released directly into the Savings Bank Account via Electronic Clearance System (ECS).
Eligibility
- Applicant must be of Goan Origin.
- Family income must not exceed ₹1,50,000/- per annum.
- Applicant must be at least 50 years of age.
- Engaged in the activity for at least 10 years and continuing it today.
- Must be declared medically unfit to carry out the activity.
- Must not be receiving Dayanand Social Security (DSS) or Kala Sanman Scheme benefits.
Application Process
Offline
- Step 1: Print the prescribed application form (Annexure-I).
- Step 2: Fill in mandatory fields and attach documents.
- Step 3: Submit to the Block Development Officer (B.D.O.) of the respective Taluka.
Post-Application Processes
- Verification: BDO verifies details via Field Assistants and forwards eligible applications to the Director of Social Welfare.
- Sanction: A Sanctioning Committee chaired by the Minister for Social Welfare scrutinizes and approves applications.
Documents Required
- Residence Certificate (Mamlatdar).
- Income Certificate.
- Birth Certificate/Proof and Aadhaar/Ration Card.
- Registration proof of business OR Affidavit for traditional activity.
- Bank Pass Book (IFSC/MICR).
- Medical Fitness Certificate (stating unfit for occupation).
- For Motorcycle Pilots: Vehicle RC, Insurance, License, Badge, and Valid Permit.
