Description
The “Scheme for Upliftment of Utsavi Rangabhumi of Goa” by the Directorate of Art and Culture aims to encourage the festival theatre of Goa. It supports village groups in presenting plays during deities’ festivals to preserve this illustrious tradition.
Benefits
- Prose Play: Maximum ₹20,000/- or 75% of actual cost.
- Sangeet (Musical) Play: Maximum ₹30,000/- or 75% of actual cost.
- Scriptwriting: Selection committee may recommend ₹3,000/- for new scripts.
- Directional support fees may be decided for identified groups.
NOTE: No group will get assistance for more than one play per year.
Eligibility
- Traditional village festive theatre groups/amateur theatre groups.
- Must have a tradition of performing for at least 25 years during deity festivals.
- All roles (including female roles) must be performed by residents of the same village; no professional artists allowed.
- Must have a Bank Account in a Nationalized/Scheduled Bank.
Application Process
Offline
- Step 1: Visit the Directorate Of Art & Culture, Panaji.
- Step 2: Request the proforma.
- Step 3: Fill mandatory fields and attach self-attested documents.
- Step 4: Submit to ACO-II, Directorate of Art & Culture, Panaji.
Documents Required
- Copy of registration certificate (if registered).
- Detailed Estimate Expenditure of play production.
- Affidavit and Play production details (scriptwriter, artists).
- Script and name of the play.
- NOC from the Devasthan.
- Bank details and previous Utilization Certificates (if applicable).
