The “Sanskrit Scholarship” scheme, implemented by the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, aims to promote the Sanskrit language by providing financial assistance to students. Under this scheme, students studying Sanskrit at various levels receive a monthly scholarship of ₹300/- for 10 months.

Benefits

Scholarship levels and quotas (₹300/- per month for 10 months):

  • Post Graduate (M.A. Classic): Quota 7
  • Acharya: Quota 7
  • Graduate (B.A. Classic): Quota 11
  • Shastri: Quota 18
  • Uttar Madhyama: Quota 33
  • Purva Madhyama: Quota 33
  • Prathama: Quota 91

Note 1: The amount is transferred directly to the applicant’s bank account.
Note 2: The scholarship is provided for 10 months.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The applicant should be a student in any government or aided non-government college.
  • Annual family income should not exceed ₹54,000/-.
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • Post Graduate: 50% marks in degree.
    • Acharya: 50% marks in Shastri.
    • Graduate: 50% marks in 10+2.
    • Shastri: 45% marks in Purva Madhyama.
    • Uttar Madhyama: 45% marks in Prathma.
    • Purva Madhyama: On the basis of merit in the 5th examination.

Application Process

Offline:
1. The Directorate of Higher Education issues the advertisement.
2. Applications are scrutinized and applicants selected within quota limits.
3. Upon approval by the Commissioner of Higher Education, funds are transferred to the bank account.
