Benefits

Reimbursement/spot-exemption of sales tax on diesel consumed by a registered boat, subject to a maximum of 15,000 liters per boat per annum.

Eligibility

  • Fishermen community members or full-time professionals in fish trade.
  • Resident of Puducherry for 5+ continuous years.
  • Member of Fishermen Co-operative Society, aged 23-60 years.
  • Must not be a recipient of Old Age Pension or employed in Government/PSUs.
  • No outstanding dues to the Department/Co-operative Societies.
  • Must possess a registered mechanized boat with annual renewal and monthly diesel passbook renewal.
  • Must not have fished during notified ban periods.

Application Process

  • Step 1: Visit the Office/Sub-Office of the Department of Fisheries and obtain the form.
  • Step 2: Fill the form and attach mandatory documents.
  • Step 3: Submit the application and receive an acknowledgment receipt with a unique ID.

  • Aadhaar, Ration Card, Voter ID, Birth Certificate.
  • Fishermen Co-operative Society membership certificate.
  • Residence Certificate (5+ years).
  • Proof of boat registration and Diesel Passbook.
  • Original diesel purchase bills.
  • Declarations regarding pension, employment, dues, and fishing ban compliance.
