The scheme “Promotion of Institutional Delivery” is implemented by the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote safe and institutional deliveries by providing free accommodation to pregnant women, especially from disaster-prone areas, near district hospitals.

Benefits

In all districts, arrangements are being made to provide free accommodation for pregnant women from identified areas in the “One Stop Centre” (run by the Women Empowerment Department). These centres allow women to stay up to 15 days before their expected delivery date, ensuring safe institutional delivery. A “One Stop Centre” has been established in every district.

Eligibility

  • The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
  • The beneficiary must be a pregnant woman.

Application Process

The facility can be availed by contacting the nearest ASHA worker, Anganwadi centre, or ANM.
