The scheme “Procedure for Admission to Government Women Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre and Women’s Home” is implemented by the Women Welfare Department, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide support to women above 18 years of age who are orphans, destitute, abandoned, found on roads, or mentally and physically disabled. Such women are provided with clothing, food, accommodation, medical care, counselling, entertainment, and training facilities free of cost.

Application Process

Offline

The woman herself or any citizen can provide information by calling helpline number 181. Information can also be given to the Police, SDM, City Magistrate, or District Magistrate. After receiving information, the Police rescue the woman, conduct medical examinations, and on orders of the District Magistrate, send her to a Government Women Welfare and Rehabilitation Centre or Mahila Griha.
