The scheme “Preservation of Tiatr Literature” was launched by the Tiatr Academy under the Art, Culture and Museums Department, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to preserve the literature related to Tiatr/Khell Tiatr/Khell, their scripts, lyrics of songs (kantaram), and music, encouraging writers to publish their works in book form in Konkani in Roman Script.

Benefits

Printing Services: Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) will print a minimum of 500 copies of scripts or lyrics in book form.

Category-wise Benefits:

  • Category I (Deceased or Inactive Artistes): One-time honorarium; 25 copies provided to writer/heir; published from TAG funds.
  • Category II (Active Artistes): 200 copies given to the artiste; one-time honorarium; published from TAG funds.
  • Category III (Self-Publishing): 100% of printing cost paid by TAG (verified rates); artiste must provide 100 copies to TAG for free; no honorarium provided.

Conditions: Manuscripts must follow traditional formats. No adverse remarks against governments, individuals, or religions are allowed.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a tiatr artiste or legal heir.
  • Category I: Deceased or living but inactive artistes. Collection of 50 songs required if submitting only songs.
  • Category II: Active stage artistes. Collection of 100 songs required if submitting only songs.
  • Category III: Individual artist/publisher self-publishing.
  • Preference given to literature of yesteryear artistes.

Application Process

Offline

  • Step 1-2: Fill the prescribed application form and attach self-attested documents.
  • Step 3: Submit to Tiatr Academy of Goa, Panaji.
  • Post-Application: A Recommendation Board reviews the manuscript. If approved, the applicant must submit a soft copy (CD/DVD/Pen Drive). An Editorial Board checks orthography before printing.

Documents Required

  • Self-attested Copy of Aadhaar and PAN Card.
  • 3 Typed Copies of the Manuscript.
  • Written NOC from Author (if applicant is a publisher).
  • Soft Copy of the Manuscript.
