The “Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme for the Children of Parents/Guardians Engaged in Unclean and Hazardous Occupations” is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme implemented by the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa. The scheme aims to support parents through financial assistance for the education of their wards studying at the Pre-Matric stage (Class I to X).

Benefits

• Day Scholar: ₹3,500/- per annum
• Hosteller: ₹8,000/- per annum (For Class III-X)

Note: A 10% extra allowance is given to Divyang (Disabled) students. Certifying authorities designate the disability as per the Right of Persons with Disability Act, 2016.

Eligibility

1. Applicant must be a student and resident of Goa.
2. Parents/guardians must be engaged in an unclean or hazardous occupation (Manual Scavengers, Tanners, Flayers, Waste pickers, or hazardous cleaning as defined in the Manual Scavengers Act 2013).
3. Student should be studying in Class I to X on a full-time basis.
4. There is no family income ceiling.
5. Scholarship holders under this scheme cannot hold any other educational scholarship for the same classes.

Online

• Step 1-3: Visit the CMScholarship portal, select Student Registration, and register with basic details.
• Step 4-5: Login using the provided ID/password and select the eligible scheme.
• Step 6-7: Upload documents and submit the application to the school/institution.
