Launched in 2018, the “Power Subsidy Scheme” is one of the “Information Technology Policy Schemes” by the Department of Information Technology, Government of Goa. The objective and the scope of this scheme is to provide Power Subsidy to the eligible Information Technology Units in the State of Goa. All the New and Existing Units having their operations in Goa are eligible.

Benefits

20% subsidy on power bills (on power charges, excluding duty and taxes), subject to a maximum of ₹ 5,00,000 per annum per Unit. The subsidy is provided for a period of 3 years from the date of commencement of operations or notification of policy, whichever is later.

NOTE 1: Benefits are subject to budgetary allocation.
NOTE 2: Only expenditure incurred during the policy operation is eligible for rebate.

Eligibility

1. New and existing units must operate in Goa.
2. Applicant must be a Proprietorship, Private/Public Ltd Company, Partnership, or LLP.
3. Bank accounts of the unit and partners/directors should be linked to Aadhaar.

Exclusion

Units availing similar financial incentives or Solar Power Subsidy under other Goa government policies are ineligible.

Application Process

Online

• Step 1-3: Register on the Goa Online portal, verify OTP, and create credentials.
• Step 4-5: Login, navigate to “IT Services”, and select the Power Subsidy Scheme.
• Step 6: Fill in mandatory fields, upload documents, and submit. Note the unique registration number.

NOTE: Applications can be made on a quarterly/bi-annually/annual basis.

Disbursement Timeline

• Scrutiny: D+30 days.
• Approval: D+60 days.
• Disbursement: D+90 days.

1. Copy of Incorporation Certificate.
2. New Unit Registration Certificate.
3. Copies of PAN, Aadhaar, and GST TIN.
4. Memorandum and Articles of Association.
5. First bill generated showing start of operations.
6. Occupancy certificate.
7. Employee details (Goan origin percentage).
8. Copies of electricity bills for the claim period and proof of payment.
9. Udyog Aadhaar.
