The scheme “Post-Matric Scholarship for Backward Classes- Uttarakhand” by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand, aims to provide financial assistance to students belonging to the Backward Classes category in Uttarakhand for pursuing education after Class 10th.

Benefits

• For Hostellers: ₹750/- per month.
• For Day Scholars: ₹350/- per month.

Eligibility

• The applicant should belong to the Backward Classes category.
• The applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
• The applicant must have passed Class 10th.
• The applicant must be pursuing any course after passing Class 10th.
• The applicant’s parental annual income must not exceed ₹2,50,000/-.
• The applicant should not be availing benefits from any other government scholarship scheme for the same purpose.

Students can apply online for scholarship by visiting the NSP Portal of Government of India. The student sends the application to his educational institution; the concerned educational institution forwards the received online application form to the District Social Welfare Officer. The District Social Welfare Officer examines the application and gets the complete application forms physically verified. The amount is sent directly to the account of the eligible applicants.

• Bank Account Details (Should be linked/ seeded with Aadhaar).
• Previous Class Marksheet.
• Self-Declaration (Stating the applicant is not availing benefits from any other government scholarship scheme).
