Palanhar Yojana was started by the Rajasthan state government to benefit orphan children. Instead of institutionalization, the scheme arranges for upbringing and education within the family of a close relative or acquaintance. The state provides financial assistance to the appointed guardian for the child’s care.

Benefits

Orphan Category:

  • Age 0 to 6 years: ₹ 1500/- per month.
  • Age 6 to 18 years: ₹ 2500/- per month.

Other Category:

  • Age 0 to 6 years: ₹ 500/- per month.
  • Age 6 to 18 years: ₹ 1000/- per month.

Additional: ₹ 2000/- per year for books, stationery, dress, and shoes.

Eligibility

  • Orphan children or children whose parents are deceased.
  • Children of parents sentenced to death/life imprisonment.
  • Children of widowed mothers receiving pension (max 3 children).
  • Children of remarried widowed mothers.
  • Children of HIV/AIDS affected parents or parents with leprosy.
  • Children of specially-abled parents.
  • Children of divorced/abandoned women receiving pension.
  • Children of parents suffering from silicosis.
  • Age must be under 18 (up to 19 if still in 12th class).
  • Guardian must be a native of Rajasthan or resident for 3+ years.
  • Guardian family income must not exceed ₹ 1.20 Lakhs per annum.

  • Aadhar Card Copy.
  • Education Qualification Marksheet / Certificate.
  • Caste Category certificate.
