The scheme “Out of Turn Employment to Sportspersons in State Services” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide job opportunities to medal-winning sportspersons by offering them out-of-turn employment in various state services.
Benefits
- Out-of-turn employment on Gazetted and Non-Gazetted posts (Level-3 to Level-10) across various government departments for medal-winning athletes.
Eligibility
- Must be a permanent resident of Uttarakhand.
- Must have won gold, silver, or bronze medals in International or National Games (Olympics, World Cup, Asian Games, Commonwealth, etc.).
- The athlete must have represented Uttarakhand in the year of the competition for which they are applying.
- Eligible Sports: Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing & Kayaking, Cycling, Diving, Equestrian, Fencing, Football, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Lawn Tennis, Shooting, Rowing, Sailing, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Baseball, Chess, Cricket, Kabaddi, Karate, Kho-Kho, and Mallakhamb.
Application Process
Offline:
- The Sports Directorate publishes advertisements in newspapers based on vacancy details from departments.
- Medal winners must submit applications to sports offices within 2 years (seniors) or 3 years (juniors) of their achievement.
- If an athlete lacks required educational qualifications, they may be given up to 4 years post-appointment to acquire them.
- Applications must include the completed form, medal certificates, Aadhaar, and residence proof.
