The scheme “Mukhyamantri Swarojgar Yojana” by the Government of Uttarakhand aims to persuade enterprising youth, COVID-19 returnee migrants, and unemployed residents to establish their own enterprises. Funding is provided via scheduled and co-operative banks with margin money provided as a grant by the MSME Department.

Benefits

1. Financial Assistance (Loan):

• Manufacturing sector: Maximum project cost ₹25,00,000.
• Service and business sector: Maximum project cost ₹10,00,000.

2. Margin Money as Grant (Subsidy):

• Category A: 25% of project cost (max ₹6.25L manufacturing / ₹2.5L service).
• Category B & B+: 20% of project cost (max ₹5L manufacturing / ₹2L service).
• Category C & D: 15% of project cost (max ₹3.75L manufacturing / ₹1.5L service).

Note: Margin money is adjusted as a grant after 2 years of successful operation.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be at least 18 years old.
• No specific educational qualification required.
• Must not be a defaulter of any financial institution.
• Must not have availed other self-employment benefits in the last 5 years (unless for expansion and not a defaulter).
• Only one family member can benefit.
• Special categories (SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwD) contribute only 5% of project cost (10% for general).
