Started in 2012, this scheme provides financial assistance to needy girls, widows, and abandoned women from poor Muslim families at the time of their mass marriage (Nikah).
Benefits
- Bride: ₹49,000/- via Account Payee Cheque.
- Organizing Body: ₹6,000/- per beneficiary.
- Total: ₹55,000/- per beneficiary.
Eligibility
- Parents must be natives of Madhya Pradesh.
- Both bride and groom must belong to Muslim families.
- Bride ≥ 18 years; Groom ≥ 21 years.
- Must participate in a mass Nikah ceremony (min 5 couples).
- No income restrictions.
- The bride should not have been previously married (except eligible widows/divorcees).
Application Process (Offline)
- Step 1: Apply jointly to the Municipal Corporation, Municipality, or District Panchayat 15 days before the Nikah.
- Step 2: Forms are available free of cost at the local body office.
- Scrutiny: Local body reviews eligibility and enters details into the marriage portal 7 days before the ceremony. Acceptance/rejection orders are generated online.
Documents Required
- Domicile proof of guardian (MP).
- Samagra ID.
- Aadhaar cards (Bride and Groom).
- Age certificates (School TC, Birth certificate, or Voter ID).
- Two photos each.
- Death certificate of husband (for widows) or Court order (for divorcees).
- Labor registration card (if applicable).
