The scheme “Mukhyamantri Medhavi Chhatra Protsahan Scholarship Scheme (Secondary Level)” is implemented by the Secondary Education Department under the Department of Education, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote academic excellence among students entering Classes 9 and 10 by providing financial assistance based on a competitive examination conducted by SCERT, Uttarakhand.

Benefits

Rate of Scholarship:

  • For Class 9th Students: ₹900/- per month for 1 year.
  • For Class 10th Students: ₹900/- per month for 1 year.

Eligibility

  • The student must have passed Class 8 from a Government or Government-aided school and be studying in Class 9.
  • Must qualify in the top 10% of the SCERT exam results.
  • Must maintain 75% attendance and 60% marks in Class 9 (SC/ST relaxation of 5%).
  • No income criterion for parents.
  • Cannot avail double benefits under multiple state scholarship schemes.

Application Process

Offline

  • Forms available at Block Education Officer’s office or department websites in June-July.
  • Application and examination are free of cost.
  • Submit completed form to the school Principal.
  • Verification is done by the Principal and forms are forwarded by August 21st.
  • Examination conducted in September in objective-type MCQ format.
  • Scholarship amount is directly credited to the student’s bank account.
