The scheme “Mukhyamantri Mahalakshmi Kit Yojana” was launched by the Department of Women Empowerment & Child Development, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to improve the health and well-being of both mothers and their newborn girl children by providing essential item kits after the institutional delivery of pregnant women registered at an Anganwadi Centre.

Benefits

• The woman will receive one Mahalakshmi kit for the birth of each of her first two girl children.
• In the case of twins, the woman will be given one Mahalakshmi kit, and each child will receive a separate Mahalakshmi kit.

Eligibility

• The beneficiary must be a resident of Uttarakhand.
• The beneficiary must be a pregnant woman registered with an Anganwadi Centre.
• The beneficiary must not be an income tax payer.

Application Process

Offline

The following items are included in the kit provided after institutional delivery:

• For Mothers: Dry fruits, socks, scarf, towel, shawl, blanket, bedsheet, sanitary pads, mustard oil, soap, and nail cutter.
• For Newborn Girl Child: Cotton/warm cap, socks, diaper, towel, baby soap, rubber sheet, warm blanket, and vaccination card.
