The “Medical Termination of Pregnancy Scheme (PULWS)” is a Welfare Scheme for the Unorganized Workers in Puducherry by the “Puducherry Unorganised Labourers’ Welfare Society”, Labour Department, Union Territory of Puducherry. The Society extends ₹250/- to the member/ spouse of the member for the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (not more than two occasions). The amount is credited through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into the bank account. The applications are accepted offline.

Eligibility

• The applicant should be a citizen of India and resident of UT Puducherry.
• The applicant should be an Unorganized Worker (Taxi/Auto Drivers, Shop workers, Carpenters, Tailors, etc.).
• The applicant should be enrolled with the Puducherry Unorganised Labourers’ Welfare Society.
• Age between 18 to 59 years.
• Paying annual subscription of ₹100 and registration fee of ₹25.
• The applicant should be Pregnant and willing to terminate the pregnancy.
• Benefits provided for up to two occasions.

Application Process

Offline

Step 1: Visit the Office of the Puducherry Unorganised Labourer’s Welfare Society and obtain the application form.

Step 2: Fill mandatory fields, paste photo, and attach documents.

Step 3: Submit the form and documents to the concerned authority.

Step 4: Request a receipt/acknowledgement.

• Two Passport-size Photographs.
• Residential/Domicile Certificate.
• Original Birth Certificate.
• Discharge Slip.
• Last Subscription Bill.
• Society ID Card/ Proof of Registration.
• Aadhaar Card, Ration Card, Bank Details.
• Medical Certificate from a registered medical practitioner.
• Additional medical reports as required.
