Implemented by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Rajasthan, this scheme provides skill training and self-employment opportunities to widowed, abandoned, and destitute women. Training is provided in Nariniketan buildings via voluntary organizations.
Objectives
- Free vocational training (3 months to 1 year).
- Accommodation and food for women and their children.
- Monthly stipend for participating women.
- Assistance in securing loans for self-employment.
Grant Funds for NGOs (Per Unit of 50 Women)
- Staff Salaries: Doctor (part-time): ₹36,000/year; Craft Teacher: ₹1,20,000/year.
- Recurring Expenses: Raw materials: ₹60,000/year; Food/Clerk/Cleaning: ₹4,05,000/year.
- Total Annual Budget: ₹6,21,000/- per center.
Eligibility (Women)
Women facing extreme social/economic distress including:
- Widowed or abandoned women.
- Released prisoners without family support.
- Victims of natural disasters, exploitation, trafficking, or terrorism.
- Women living with HIV/AIDS abandoned by families.
- Mentally ill women (not requiring institutional psychiatric care).
Eligibility (NGOs)
- Registered voluntary organization/trust operational for at least 3 years.
- Non-profit focus on women’s welfare with a formal management committee.
- Must not be blacklisted.
Application Process (Offline)
- NGO Application: Submit to the District Collector’s Office in the prescribed format.
- Review: The District Collector recommends; Social Justice Dept evaluates.
- Beneficiary Enrollment: Women enroll through the Admission Advisory Committee.
