The “Madhya Pradesh Crime Victim Compensation Scheme” was launched by the Home Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It provides financial compensation and rehabilitation to crime victims or their dependents based on loss, injury, and financial status.

Benefits

Compensation Details:

• Loss of life (Death): Up to ₹4,00,000 (earning member) or ₹2,00,000 (non-earning).
• Loss of Fetus: Up to ₹50,000 + free medical treatment.
• Permanent Disability (100%): Up to ₹3,00,000 (earning) or ₹1,50,000 (non-earning).
• Permanent Disability (>40%): Up to ₹2,00,000 (earning) or ₹1,00,000 (non-earning).
• Loss of fertility: Up to ₹1,50,000.
• Serious injury to vital part: Up to ₹50,000 (earning) or ₹25,000 (non-earning).
• Gang Rape: Up to ₹3,00,000 + medical treatment.
• Sexual crime with minors: Up to ₹2,00,000.
• Acid attack (>40% disfiguration): Up to ₹3,00,000.
• Acid attack (<40% disfiguration): Up to ₹1,50,000.

Medical Treatment: Free in government hospitals. Interim Relief: Immediate first-aid support available. Disbursement is via Aadhaar-linked bank account.

Eligibility

• Victim of crime or dependent within Madhya Pradesh.
• Report crime without delay and cooperate with investigation.
• Annual income must not exceed ₹5,00,000 (if higher, compensation is limited to 50%).

Application Process

Offline

Victim files application with District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). DLSA verifies claims within 60 days. Appeals can be filed with State Legal Services Authority within 90 days.
