The scheme ‘Khiladi Protsahan Chhatravriti Yojana’ was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to promote sports among talented youth aged 14 to 23 years from Uttarakhand by providing scholarships and financial assistance for sports equipment.
Under this scheme, players/sportspersons aged 14 to 23 years are selected annually based on the P-SAT (Physical and Sports Aptitude Test). A total of 100 boys and 100 girls are selected per district, and they are provided a scholarship of ₹2,000/- per month along with ₹10,000/- once a year for sports equipment.
Scholarships are awarded on a priority basis in the following sports: (1) Athletics, (2) Badminton, (3) Boxing, (4) Taekwondo, (5) Kabaddi, (6) Football, (7) Volleyball, (8) Basketball, (9) Hockey, (10) Table Tennis, (11) Karate, and (12) Judo.

There is no selection at the school or Nyaya Panchayat level. Players independently participate in competitions held directly at the municipality, municipal corporation, or district level, and selections are made based on merit.

The district-level selection committee will issue a final list in each age group who secure the highest marks based on merit. These players will be eligible for the sports scholarship, which will be directly transferred to their accounts through DBT.
