Kasturba Gandhi Special Term Deposit Receipt Scheme

The “Kasturba Gandhi Special Term Deposit Receipt Scheme” was launched by the Department of Education, Government of Rajasthan. It supports girls who complete Class 8 from Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls’ Schools (KGBV) and continue their regular studies in government schools.

Benefits

For Class 11 Students: A Special Term Deposit Receipt (STDR) of ₹2,000/- with a maturity period of 5 years (for those who secured at least 50% in Class 10).
For Graduation Students: A Special Term Deposit Receipt (STDR) of ₹4,000/- with a maturity period of 3 years (for those who secured at least 50% in Class 12 and enrolled in an undergraduate course).
Disbursement: STDRs are issued in the name of the student.

Eligibility

General Eligibility:

The applicant should be a native of Rajasthan state.
The applicant should be a girl student.
The applicant must have passed Class 8th from a Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in Rajasthan.

Eligibility for Class 10th Students:

Passed Class 10th with a minimum of 50% marks while studying in a government school.
Enrolled in Class 11th in a government school.

Eligibility for Class 12th Students:

Passed Class 12th with at least 50% marks from a government school.
Enrolled in the first year of a recognized undergraduate course.

Application Process

Step 1: The applicant should contact their respective school.
Step 2: Eligible students are identified by the head of the institution.
Step 3: Submit copies of mandatory documents to the school.
Step 4: The school logs into the Shala Darpan Portal using their credentials.
Step 5: The school fills and submits the application form on behalf of the student.

Post-Application Process:

Applications are forwarded to the District Education Officer (DEO) and subsequently to the Directorate of Secondary Education, Bikaner for verification and processing.
