The “Inter-Caste / Inter-Religious Marriage Award” scheme is implemented by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand, aims to promote social harmony and discourage caste and religious discrimination. Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided to married couples.

Benefits

The married couple is jointly provided with a financial amount of ₹50,000/-.

Eligibility

  • Resident of Uttarakhand.
  • Inter-caste marriage: One spouse must belong to a Scheduled Caste.
  • Inter-religious marriage: Spouses must belong to different religions.

Application Process

Offline

Applications are scrutinised by the District Social Welfare Officer and recommended by the District Magistrate for Directorate approval. Bank drafts are issued after government approval.

Documents Required

  • Identity proof
  • Date of birth certificates of both (School certificate/Birth certificate/Aadhaar)
  • Marriage registration certificate
  • CBS bank account linked with Aadhaar
  • Caste/community certificate
  • Proof of residence
