The scheme “Scheme for Construction of Multipurpose Community Halls in Areas Inhabited by Tribal Community (Sanskruti Bhavan)” was launched by the Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Goa to provide infrastructure like marriage halls, reading rooms, and facilitation points to the Scheduled Tribe community.

Benefits

  • Construction of a “Sanskruti Bhavan” serving as an Anganwadi, reading room, and marriage hall.
  • Funding for the entire cost up to a maximum of ₹50,00,000/- (including land cost).
  • Seating capacity of 200 to 300 people.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a Village Panchayat, a group of at least 100 tribals, or an NGO working for tribals.
  • Project must be in areas inhabited by the Tribal Community.
  • Land must be free from all encumbrances.
  • Habitation classification: Class A (Forest area), Class B (>40% ST), Class C (<40% ST).

Application Process

Offline:
1. Prepare proposal and obtain prescribed form.
2. Gather ownership documents, NOC, and resolutions (Gram Sabha/Panchayat).
3. Groups of tribals must collect at least 100 signatures.
4. Submit to Tribal Welfare Department for scrutiny and State Level Committee approval.

  • Signatures of 100 tribal community members (if applicable).
