Description

This scheme by the Home Department, Government of Goa, offers financial security to retired seamen and their widows through a monthly pension.

Benefits

Gross Pension of ₹2,500 per month. If the beneficiary receives other social security (DSS, Griha Aadhaar, Kala Samman) less than ₹2,500, only the difference is paid.

Eligibility

  • Retired seaman or seaman medically invalidated before retirement.
  • Age: 60 years or above.
  • Resident of Goa by birth or parents born in Goa.
  • Minimum 120 months of actual sea service (condonable break up to 6 months). Service limit doesn’t apply to medical invalidation cases.
  • Widows: Eligible on compassionate grounds if resident of Goa for 15 years and annual income < ₹1,20,000.

Application Process

Offline
Step 1: Visit the NRI Commission office in Goa.
Step 2: Fill application and attach required documents.
Step 3: Submit every year a Life Certificate to the bank before 31st March.

Documents Required

  • Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) / Seafarers ID.
  • Birth/School Leaving Certificate for age proof.
  • Income and Residence Certificates.
  • Medical/Death/Marriage Certificates as applicable.
  • Affidavit on ₹50 stamp paper.
  • Aadhaar and Voter ID.
  • Life Certificate (Gazetted Officer issued).
