Description

The scheme “Goa State Cultural Award” by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa, honours Goan artists for lifetime achievements and extraordinary contributions to art and culture. Up to 12 awards are given annually across various fields.

Benefits

Awardees receive a shawl, a sriphal, a certificate of appreciation, and a financial purse of ₹1,00,000. They also receive monthly financial assistance under the Kala Samman scheme.

Award Categories

1. Music, 2. Dance, 3. Drama/Theatre/Tiatr, 4. Performing Folk Art, 5. Fine Art & Craft, 6. Bhajan/Kirtan/Choir, 7. Film/Audio Visual, 8. Overall contribution, 9. Literature, 10. Photography.

Eligibility

  • Must be an artist aged 60 years or above.
  • Extraordinary contribution to the field of art & culture.
  • Minimum 10 years of contribution in Goa during their career.
  • Awards are generally not posthumous unless death occurs after recommendation.

Exclusion

  • No assistance paid to dependents after death.
  • Not eligible if already availing another State/Central pension scheme (Kala Samman part).
  • Cannot avail the benefit a second time.

Application Process

Offline
Step 1: Visit Directorate Of Art & Culture, Shram Shakti Bhavan, Panaji.
Step 2: Fill the proforma and attach mandatory documents.
Step 3: Submit to ACO-III, Directorate of Art & Culture within 30 days of newspaper advertisement.

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Biodata and Passport sized photographs
  • Photographs of performance/contribution
  • Certificates of achievements
  • NRI/OCI proof (if applicable)
  • Bank Passbook copy/cancelled cheque
