The scheme “Goa State Best Library and Best Librarian Award” recognizes the hard work of library management and librarians in promoting the library movement in Goa. It is administered by the Directorate of Art and Culture.

Eligibility

For Library

  • Minimum 15 years in existence.
  • Minimum 100 registered members for the last 5 years.
  • Minimum 2500 books/periodicals.
  • Minimum area of 40 sq. mts. with proper infrastructure.
  • Maintained updated records and conducted regular reading habit programmes.

For Librarian

  • Born in Goa or resident for 15 years.
  • Minimum 10 years continuous service in a reputed library in Goa.
  • Initiatives taken for library development and reading culture.
  • Serving in Government or Government-aided Public/Academic/Special/Research libraries.

Application Process

Offline
Step 1: Visit Goa State Central Library or the official website.
Step 2: Fill the proforma application form.
Step 3: Submit the signed form and documents to the Curator, Goa State Central Library, Patto, Panaji – Goa. Ph: 0832-2437947.

Documents Required

  • For Library: Photograph of front view, collection details, and photographs of the collection.
  • For Librarian: Detailed contribution report.
