The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act of 2005 provides a framework to safeguard women. The Government of Madhya Pradesh offers compensation under this scheme to help women and girls who endure physical harm resulting from domestic violence.

Benefits

Victims will be assisted as follows:

• If disabilities are less than 40% resulting from damage to any part of the body, compensation of up to ₹2,00,000/- will be provided.
• If the disability exceeds 40%, the compensation increases to a maximum of ₹4,00,000/-.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
• The applicant must be a woman or girl.
• The applicant must be affected by domestic violence.

Application Process (Offline)

1. Submit an application to the Protection Officer/Administrator within 1 year of the incident.
2. A copy of the mandatory FIR must be attached.
3. The Protection Officer forwards the report to the District Program Officer.
4. The government medical board assesses physical injuries.
5. The application is reviewed by a District Level Committee (Chaired by the District Collector).
