The scheme “Financial Assistance to Pre-Primary School in Remote Areas” by the Department of Tribal Welfare, Government of Goa provides financial assistance to set up pre-primary schools in remote tribal areas which lack such facilities.

Benefits

  • Rent: Up to ₹ 2,000/- per month.
  • Snacks: ₹ 300/- per month per student.
  • Teaching Aids/Toys: ₹ 25,000/- for the first year; ₹ 15,000/- per annum for the next four years.
  • Teacher Remuneration: ₹ 10,000/- per month (Trained) or ₹ 8,000/- per month (Untrained). Includes 10% annual increment for trained teachers.
  • Helper Remuneration: As per the Minimum Wages Act.
  • Additional teacher/helper sanctioned if ST students exceed 20.

Eligibility

  • No existing pre-primary school in the locality.
  • School must have at least 10 ST students in a class of 20.
  • Teachers must meet qualification requirements (untrained teachers must qualify within 3 years).
  • Eligible Agencies: Existing Primary Schools, NGOs with 3 years experience, or experienced trained teachers.

Application Process

Offline:

Step 1: Visit the Department of Tribal Welfare, Patto, Panaji.

Step 2: Obtain the application form.

Step 3: Fill mandatory fields and attach self-attested documents.

Step 4: Submit the form to the Director of Tribal Welfare for scrutiny by the state-level committee.

  • Resolution of the Gramsabha/Village Panchayat.
  • NOC / Lease agreement for the premises.
  • Experience certificate of the applicant.
  • List of ST Students in prescribed proforma.
  • Details of Teacher/Helper in prescribed proforma.
