The scheme “Financial Assistance To Non-School Going Disabled Children Scheme” was launched by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Haryana. It provides financial assistance to mentally retarded and multiple disabled children in the age group of 0-18 years who are unable to attend formal education or training due to their disability.

Benefits

Financial assistance of ₹2150/- per month is given to every eligible disabled child in the family (w.e.f. April 2023).

Note: After reaching 18 years, the beneficiary automatically becomes eligible for a handicapped pension.

Eligibility

  • Age group 0-18 years with a physical or mental disability.
  • Child is not able to attend formal education/training.
  • Domicile of Haryana residing in the state for the last three years.
  • Medical Certificate from a Civil Surgeon confirming:
    • Mental Retardation (I.Q. not exceeding 50 or 70%+ disability).
    • Cerebral Palsy, Autism, or Multiple disabilities (70%+).
    • Orthopedic disability (100%) like Myopathy, Paraplegia, or Quadriplegia.
  • Family income must be less than Minimum Wages.

Exclusion

Children already receiving benefits under Scholarship, Unemployment Allowance, or Handicapped Pension schemes are not eligible.

Application Process

Offline/Online:

Step 01: Visit the District Social Welfare Office or download the form from the department website.
Step 02: Fill the form and attach documents.
Step 03: Get the form attested by the concerned authority.
Step 04: Submit to the DSWO office.

Documents Required

  • Age Proof: Birth Certificate, affidavit, or certificate from a Gazetted officer.
  • Residential Proof: Ration Card, Voter Card, or Voter list photo (issued prior to 5 years).
  • Medical Certificate: Issued by Civil Surgeon showing specified disabilities.
  • Aadhaar Card and Family ID (PPP).
  • Bank account details with passbook copy.
