Overview

The “Financial Assistance Scheme for Journalists and Litterateurs” scheme was launched by the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Rajasthan. It provides support for critical illnesses, medical emergencies, and instances of no income. Illnesses covered include: Cancer, leprosy, valve replacement, angioplasty, bypass surgery, kidney transplant, brain stroke, epileptic seizures, severe injury, infections, general surgery, pregnancy (cesarean), paralysis, asthma, Alzheimer’s, COVID-19, thyroid, etc.

Benefits

  • Monetary Assistance for Medical Treatment: Up to ₹1,00,000/- for critical diseases. In special cases, up to ₹2,00,000/-.
  • Monthly Financial Assistance: ₹1,000 to ₹2,500 per month for a maximum of one year for unemployed/elderly journalists with no income.

Eligibility

  • Resident of Rajasthan.
  • Journalist or litterateur.
  • Criteria: Suffering from incurable diseases; Unemployed due to ill health with no income; Aged 60+ with no income; Humanitarian grounds.
  • Note: Assistance given to only one person at a time.

Application Process (Offline)

  • Step 1: Visit the Director, DIPR, Jaipur to request the application form.
  • Step 2: Fill mandatory fields and attach self-attested documents.
  • Step 3: Submit to the Director, DIPR, Jaipur.
  • Notes: Journalists’ applications must be recommended by recognized bodies (Rajasthan Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh, JAR, etc.). Litterateurs’ applications must be recommended by the relevant literary academy.
