The scheme “Financial Assistance for Marriage of Poor Scheduled Caste Brides” was introduced by the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, Government of Puducherry, to support poor SC parents with marriage expenses for their daughters.

Benefits

  • Financial Assistance of ₹15,000/- for each marriage (up to two daughters per family).

Eligibility

  • Parent/Guardian must be a citizen of India, from SC community, and native of Puducherry.
  • Assistance for the first marriage only; marriage must be registered and performed according to law.
  • Application must be submitted 30 days prior to the marriage date.
  • Annual income of parent/guardian should not exceed ₹2,00,000.
  • Bride must be 18+ and Bridegroom must be 21+.

Application Process

  • Step 1: Register/Login on the e-District Portal.
  • Step 2: Fill the online application form for the marriage assistance scheme.
  • Step 3: Upload required documents and submit the application 30 days before the marriage.

Documents Required

  • Residence-cum-nativity and Caste Certificates.
  • Aadhaar Cards and Voter Cards.
  • Birth Certificates/TC of Bride and Bridegroom.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Marriage Invitation and Registration.
  • Recent photographs of Bride and Bridegroom.
  • First-time Marriage Certificate (from MLA/MP/Commissioner).
  • Bank Account details.
