The scheme “Financial Assistance for Construction/ Purchase of Wooden/ FRP Fishing Vessel (Canoe) for Fishermen” is a scheme by the Department of Fisheries, Government of Goa. The Government covers 50% of the actual cost of the vessel.

Benefits

  • General Category: 50% subsidy, limited to ₹ 60,000/-
  • SC/ST Category: 50% subsidy, limited to ₹ 80,000/-
  • Benefit is available once every four years on one craft per family household.

Eligibility

  • Applicant should be a traditional fisherman by birth or profession and a resident of Goa.
  • No household member should be a defaulter with the Directorate of Fisheries.
  • The vessel must be registered with the Directorate of Fisheries under MFR Act 1980 or MS Act.
  • The vessel must not be sold, leased, or transferred for 5 years.
  • Must be used exclusively for fishing.

Application Process

Offline:

Step 1: Obtain the prescribed application form.

Step 2: Fill in all details and attach self-attested mandatory documents.

Step 3: Submit the form to the Department of Fisheries office in Panaji or BDO/Sub-Offices.

Documents Required

  • Certificate of Vessel Registration.
  • Fishing Vessel and Net License Certificates.
  • Updated Fishing Netbook.
  • Original GST Bill from Authorized Dealer for the Wooden/FRP Craft.
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ST) if applicable.
  • Aadhar Card, Election Card, and Aadhaar-linked Bank Passbook.
  • Inspection Report with photographs by Fisheries Officer.
