The scheme “Dr. Savitaben Ambedkar Inter Caste Marriage Assistance Scheme” is implemented by the Director Scheduled Caste Welfare, Government of Gujarat. It addresses social inequality by encouraging marriages between individuals from Scheduled Castes of Hinduism and those from other castes.

Benefits

Total financial assistance of ₹2,50,000/- provided as:

• ₹1,00,000/- for domestic expenses and household appliances.
• ₹1,50,000/- in the form of National Savings Certificates in the joint name of the couple.

Eligibility

• One person of the couple should be a native of Gujarat.
• One person should belong to the Scheduled Caste Category.
• Marriage must be registered; apply within two years of marriage.
• Parents should have resided in Gujarat for five years.
• Non-SC migrants must furnish a certificate of being a Hindu and not an untouchable in their home province.
• Remarriage of widowers/widows without children is eligible.
• No income limit.
