The scheme “Dr. P. G. Solanki Scheme for Stipend to Scheduled Caste Lawyers” was launched by the Director Scheduled Caste Welfare, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of Gujarat. The scheme was launched in year 2000. Under the scheme, a monthly stipend is provided for three years to law graduates belonging to the scheduled caste category, as well as to the senior lawyer who trains such individuals.

Benefits

The stipend is given to law graduates for training in practice through senior lawyers as under:

  • ₹1,000/- per month for First Year Training
  • ₹800/- per month for Second Year Training
  • ₹600/- per month for Third Year Training
  • ₹500/- per month as given to Senior Lawyer for giving training

Eligibility

  • The applicant should be a Law graduate.
  • The applicant should belong to the Scheduled Caste category.
  • The benefit of this scheme will be given only to natives of Gujarat state.
  • There is no income limit in this scheme.
  • The benefit of this scheme will be available to one person only once.

Important Notes

  • Note 01: Application must be made within two years of registration in Gujarat Bar Council.
  • Note 02: A senior lawyer should have been practicing for at least 10 years.
  • Note 03: A senior lawyer can retain up to two more junior lawyers for training.
  • Note 04: Training can be at district or taluka headquarters.
  • Note 05: Trainees must submit monthly training certificates to the senior advocate.
  • Note 06: At least 15% of applicants must be from most marginalized scheduled castes.

Visit the e-Samaj Kalyan Portal (https://esamajkalyan.gujarat.gov.in/), register as a new user, update your profile, select the scheme, fill in mandatory details, upload documents, and submit.

  • Passport-size Photograph
  • Aadhaar Card of Junior Lawyer
  • Caste certificate
  • School Leaving Certificate
  • LLB Mark sheet
  • Charter/Enrolment Number-date
  • Proof of Residence
  • Bar Council Identity Card
  • Bank Passbook copy

For Senior Lawyer:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Charter/Enrolment details
  • Bar Council ID Card
  • Certificate of 10+ years practice
  • Details of current junior trainees
  • Consent Form for Training
  • Bank Passbook copy
