The scheme “Deployment of Prantiya Rakshak Dal Volunteers” was launched by the Department of Youth Welfare and prantiy rakshak dal (PRD), Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to provide financial security to PRD volunteers aged 18 to 42 years by paying a daily honorarium for their assistance in police duties and deployment in various offices.
Under this scheme, PRD volunteers are paid a daily honorarium of ₹570/- for providing police assistance and performing duties in various offices.

Departments submit requirements to the Youth Welfare and PRD Department. Applications are invited through advertisements for physical measurements and examinations. Selection is based on merit by a committee headed by the District Magistrate. Selected volunteers undergo 22 days of paramilitary training and 15 days of retraining. Honorarium is paid directly via DBT for the deployment period.
