The scheme “Appointment of Contract Sports Coaches” was launched by the Department of Sports, Government of Uttarakhand. The scheme aims to appoint sports coaches on a contract basis to ensure the smooth functioning of local training camps for various sports across the state.

Benefits

Every year, around 250 coaches benefit from these training camps and gain employment.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a sportsperson or a coach from Uttarakhand.
• The applicant must be between 21 and 70 years of age.
• The applicant must possess the relevant educational and sports qualifications.
• The sports coach is not required to be a domicile or permanent resident of Uttarakhand.

Application Process

Offline

• The department organizes local training camps for various sports every year.
• Sports coaches are appointed on a contractual basis for up to 11 months (from 15th April to 15th March).
• Notifications are published in daily newspapers, usually in March.
• Applications are submitted by District Sports Officers for conducting the camps.

Documents Required

Submission of documents is required in accordance with the department’s guidelines to avail the benefits of the scheme.
