“A Program to Provide 90 Percent Assistance in Planting Material of Horticultural Fruit Crops” introduced by the Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department, Gujarat, aims to support farmers by providing 90% subsidy on the cost of planting materials like grafted/tissue culture saplings and seedlings for various fruit crops.

Benefits

Farmers receive up to 90% financial assistance on the cost of planting materials. Pre-fixed assistance rates per hectare for different crops:

Pomegranate ₹20,000/ha
Guava ₹16,650/ha
Aonla (Indian Gooseberry) ₹5,560/ha
Mandarin / Orange ₹5,560/ha
Ber ₹2,780/ha
Coconut ₹13,000/ha

Note: Only saplings costing up to ₹250/- per unit are eligible for subsidy. Planting material must be purchased from nurseries accredited by NHB/Agricultural University/Horticulture Department. Tissue culture materials must be from labs approved by DBT, GNFC, GSFC, or similar government institutions.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a farmer.
  • The applicant must be a resident of Gujarat.
  • The applicant must purchase planting materials from approved/accredited sources.

  • Step 1: Visit the I-Khedut Portal.
  • Step 2: Navigate to ‘Schemes’ and then ‘Agricultural Schemes’.
  • Step 3: Select the scheme and click ‘Apply’.
  • Step 4: Use “Apply New” for a new application.
  • Step 5: Confirm the application and take a printout.

Documents Required

  • 7/12 Certificate (land ownership proof).
  • Aadhaar Card.
  • Bank Passbook or Cancelled Cheque.
