The “Palak Mata-Pita Yojana” introduced on 29th August, 2009 by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Gujarat, aims to provide monthly assistance to close relatives or guardians caring for orphaned children who are studying.
Benefits
- Financial Assistance: ₹3,000/- per month via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Eligibility
- Applicant must be a close relative, guardian, or foster parent caring for a child aged 0 to 18 years.
- Child must be orphaned (both parents deceased) or the father is deceased and the mother has remarried.
- Children aged 3-6 must be enrolled in an Anganwadi; those above 6 must be in school.
- Annual family income must not exceed ₹27,000/- in rural areas or ₹36,000/- in urban areas.
- An annual educational certificate must be submitted.
