New Akanksha Scheme (Educational Loan) (GNDTDC)

The “New Akanksha Scheme (Educational Loan)” is implemented by the Gujarat Nomadic and Denotified Tribes Development Corporation (GNDTDC) under the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. Under this scheme, educational loans are provided to students belonging to Nomadic and Denotified Tribes communities for pursuing higher professional and technical education at the graduate and postgraduate levels.

Benefits

1. Loan Amount: The maximum loan limit for this scheme is up to ₹10,00,000/-.
2. Included Expenses: Admission and tuition fees, books, uniforms, exam fees, accommodation, food, and insurance premiums.
3. Interest Rate: 4% per annum for male students; 3.5% per annum for female students.
4. Contribution: 90% from the Central Corporation, 5% from State Govt, 5% from beneficiary.
5. Repayment Period: 60 equal monthly installments. Recovery starts within 6 months of course completion or getting a job.

Eligibility

The applicant should be a resident of Gujarat.
The applicant should belong to the Nomadic Tribe or Denotified Tribe.
The applicant’s family’s annual income should not exceed ₹3,00,000/-.
The applicant should be pursuing approved courses: MBA, MCA, Engineering (IIT/AICTE), medical courses (MCI recognized), or Nursing Diploma.

Note: At least 50% of the total loan amount will be allocated for families having an annual income of up to ₹1,50,000/-.

Exclusion

Loan is not eligible in case of admission obtained under management quota.

Step 1: Visit the official GNDTDC portal and click on “Educational Loan (New Akanksha Yojana)” > “Apply Now”.
Step 2: Fill the form with Personal info, Qualification (SSC, HSC, Degree), College/Institution details, Hostel details, and Loan amounts requested.
Step 3: Review and submit with Captcha. Save the Application ID for status tracking.
