The “Food Bill Assistant for Medical & Engineering Students of SEBC” scheme was launched by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims to provide financial relief for food expenses to SEBC category students pursuing higher education in the medical and engineering fields. Under this scheme, financial assistance per month for a maximum of 10 months is provided to eligible students.

Benefits

• Financial Assistance: ₹300/- per month (₹3,000/- annually) for most eligible SEBC students.
• ₹700/- per month (₹7,000/- annually) for selected students (limited number).
• ₹1,500/- per month (₹15,000/- annually) for SEBC students in self-financed colleges residing in hostels (fixed ceiling).
• Duration: Maximum of 10 months in an academic year.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be a student and a permanent resident of Gujarat.
• The applicant must belong to the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC).
• The applicant should be pursuing a Medical or Engineering degree in a recognized institution.
• The applicant must have passed HSC (Class 12th).
• The applicant’s annual family income should not exceed ₹6,000,000/-.
• Students already availing similar mess assistance are not eligible.

Online Application Procedure:

• Step 1: Visit Digital Gujarat Portal and Register.
• Step 2: Provide mobile number, email, and set password.
• Step 3: Login and complete the ‘My Profile’ section.
• Step 4: Update profile with OTP verification.
• Step 5: Select ‘Scholarship Services’ -> ‘SC Scheme’ (as listed in portal).
• Step 6: Select Financial Year and then the specific SEBC Food Bill scheme.
• Step 7: Fill details, upload documents, and click ‘Confirm & Final Submit’.

Important Notes

• Photo uploading is mandatory.
• One application per student only.
• Outside-state students submit to native district officer.

• Caste Certificate.
• Income Certificate.
• Mark sheets/Last Year Mark sheet.
• Receipt of Fee Paid.
