Details

The “KSCSTE Research Fellowship” encourages post-graduate students in Ph.D. studies across seven science streams: Mathematical, Life, Chemical, Physical, Engineering, Environmental, and Earth-Atmospheric Sciences. Selection is via an online examination (Paper A: General Aptitude; Paper B: Subject Paper). Total marks (90) comprise online exam (70) and PG degree marks (20).

Fellowship Distribution: Life Sciences (28), Chemical (16), Mathematical (10), Physical (16), Earth/Planetary (10), Environmental (10), Engineering (10). Total: 100.

Necessary Conditions: Must register in a Kerala University, join upon receiving offer letter (valid for 1 year), and submit required orders/reports for release of funds.

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend: ₹31,000/- (JRF – first two years) and ₹35,000/- (SRF – third year).
  • Annual contingency: ₹20,000/-.
  • HRA: Max 10% (if hostel not provided).
  • Duration: Max 3 years.

Eligibility

  • Three consecutive chances to apply after qualifying PG degree.
  • Minimum 70% marks in PG (65% for SC/ST/Disabled).
  • Qualifying PG degree must be from a University in Kerala.
  • Upper age limit: 35 years.

  • Non-refundable registration fee: ₹750/- (exempt for SC/ST/Disabled).
  • No hard copies accepted.
  • Online examination at three centers across Kerala.
