The scheme “Financial Assistance to visually impaired Advocates” was launched by the Department of Social Justice, Government of Kerala. Under the scheme, financial assistance will be provided to visually impaired Advocates who are practicing in any one or more Courts in Kerala. The applicant under this scheme shall be eligible for an exgratia non-recurring grant for the purchase of books, provisional suits, etc., and they are being paid a reader’s allowance for a period of 10 years.

Benefits

• Exgratia non-recurring grant of ₹3500/- for purchase of books, suits, etc.
• Reader’s allowance @ ₹5000/- per month for a period of 10 years.

Eligibility

• 1. The applicant should be a native and resident of Kerala State.
• 2. The applicant should be a visually impaired Advocate.
• 3. The applicant should be an advocate practicing in any one or more Courts in Kerala.
• 4. Combined annual family income from all sources shall not exceed ₹1,00,000/-.

Note: A reading assistant must have at least passed the S.S.L.C. examination.

Application Process

Online / Offline

Registration Process: Visit SUNEETHI portal, perform one-time registration, and verify mobile number.
Login/Application Process: Sign in to Citizen Login, update profile details, select scheme, and submit the application form.

• Identity card (Aadhaar)
• Mobile number & Email id
• Passport size photo
• Medical Certificate from Eye/Ortho specialist as applicable
• Certificate in Prescribed Form from Presiding Officer of the practicing Court
• Income certificate from Village Officer
• Educational and professional certificates of both advocate and reader assistant (Gazetted officer attested)
• Bank details (Pass Book copy)
• Other documents, if any
