The “Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana” was started by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh in 2006. The objective is to provide financial assistance for the mass marriage of girls, widows, and abandoned women from destitute or poor families.

Benefits

• Each Bride: ₹49,000/- through an Account Payee Cheque on the day of the ceremony.
• Organizing Body: ₹6,000/- per beneficiary.
• Total: ₹55,000/- per beneficiary.

Eligibility

• Parents must be natives of Madhya Pradesh.
• Bride must be at least 18 years old; groom at least 21 years old.
• Includes General, OBC, SC, and ST categories with no income restrictions.
• Must participate in a mass marriage ceremony (minimum 5 couples required). Single marriages are not eligible.
• Abandoned women must be legally divorced.
• The bride should not have been previously married.

Application Process (Offline)

• Step 1: Jointly apply to the local body (Municipal Corporation, Municipality, City Council, or District Panchayat) 15 days before the ceremony.
• Step 2: Collect the application form (Appendix 1) free of cost from the local body.
• Step 3: Fill and submit the form with documents.
• Scrutiny: A committee reviews applications and enters details into the marriage portal 7 days before the ceremony.
• Rejections can be appealed to the Sub-Divisional Revenue Officer within 30 days.

Documents Required

1. Guardian’s Domicile Certificate (Madhya Pradesh).
2. Samagra ID (Mandatory for residents).
3. Aadhaar cards (Bride and Groom).
4. Age certificates (School TC, Marksheet, Birth Certificate, Voter ID, or Medical certificate).
5. Two passport-sized photos each.
6. Mobile numbers.
7. Death certificate of husband (for widows).
8. Court order for divorce (for abandoned women).
9. Labor registration card (if applicable).
