Launched on 13th August 2013, the “Funeral Assistance Scheme” by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Madhya Pradesh, provides ₹3,000/- for the last rites of destitute individuals and unclaimed bodies. The scheme also supports families registered under labour schemes, especially those in the unorganized sector.

  • Financial assistance of ₹3,000/- is provided for performing final rites.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a native of Madhya Pradesh.
  • The deceased should have been a member of a family registered under the labour cadre schemes operated by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.

Application Process (Offline)

Step 1: Visit the Gram Panchayat or Public Service Center and request the application form.
Step 2: Fill mandatory fields and attach necessary documents.
Step 3: Obtain an acknowledgement receipt from the office.
Step 4: Documents will be verified by the District/Gram Panchayat or Urban Body.
Step 5: Keep a photocopy of the form and receipt for reference.

Post Application Processes: Once verified, the application is approved, and the name is added to the monthly pension/assistance proposal. Discrepancies lead to rejection with written notice.

  • Death certificate.
  • FIR (in case of accident or unclaimed body).
