The “Trademark Reimbursement Scheme” is a part of the Goa Start-up Policy 2017, managed by the Department of IT, Electronics and Communications. It supports startups in protecting their brand identity.

Benefits

  • Reimbursement: 50% of the cost of trademark registration (name and logo) up to ₹ 25,000/-.
  • Slots: Up to 200 applicants per year.
  • Disbursal: Approved amounts are disbursed within 60 days of approval.

Eligibility

  • Must be a startup certified by the Startup Promotion Cell (SPC).
  • Must have a valid start-up certificate number.
  • The trademark must have been successfully registered.
  • Expenditure must be incurred after the 2017 policy notification and paid digitally.
  • Applications must be made within 6 months of incurring the expenditure.

Application Process

Online:

  • Visit the Official Goa Startup Mission website and register/login.
  • Fill the online application form for the Trademark Reimbursement Scheme.
  • Upload mandatory documents and submit.

Offline Alternative:

  • Print the proforma, fill it, and email it with documents to spc-dit.goa@gov.in.

Documents Required

  • Copy of Trademark Certificate.
  • Completed forms as per Annexure 1 of the policy.
  • Note: Directors’ bank accounts must be linked to Aadhaar.
