The Seed Production Programme aims to improve the economic condition of SC and ST farmers by providing assisted access to high-yielding variety seeds for production purposes up to a limit of 1 hectare.

Conditions

  • Minimum area: 0.2 hectares; Maximum: 1 hectare.
  • Adoption of complete agricultural package and removal of undesirable plants.
  • Execution of a production agreement.
  • Payment of remaining 25% cost in cash or own seed.
  • Produced seeds must be available for other SC/ST farmers in the following year.

Eligibility

  • Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.
  • Small or marginal farmer.
  • Within 10km periphery of selected Govt. agricultural farms.
  • Must register with Seed Certification Agency.

Application Process (Offline)

  • Step 1: Primary selection by Rural Agricultural Extension Officer.
  • Step 2: Approval of list by Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer.
  • Step 3: Seed distribution to selected farmers.
  • Step 4: Registration with Certification Agency (within 20 days of sowing).
  • Step 5: Procurement and processing of raw seed after harvest.

Application Deadlines

  • Selection: May 25 (Kharif) / Aug 31 (Rabi).
  • Supply: June 15 (Kharif) / Oct 10 (Rabi).

  • Land Holding Proof (Min 0.2 Hectares)
  • Proof of Residence near selected Govt. farm
  • Written Consent/Declaration
  • Agreement with Department (Post-selection)
